Get To Know Lexi

I’m sure you are here to find out more about the woman behind the website. I got married in Homer, Alaska, in September 2023. In addition to being a travel agent, I’m a stay-at-home mom to three kiddos, ages 7, 2, and 1! My family lives in rural Wisconsin, and we love embracing the spontaneous side of life, often taking the road less traveled. My love for travel began in 2012 during my senior year of high school, when I went on a local business-sponsored trip to Washington D.C. My first international adventure came in early 2014, when I worked on shark and stingray research in Florida/Costa Rica, turtle conservation in Nicaragua, and became scuba certified.

The most unforgettable trip I’ve taken was a four-month study abroad program in Australia, where I had the opportunity to scuba dive in the Great Barrier Reef, explore New Zealand from top to bottom, visit Bali, and see countless incredible spots in Australia. One of my most action-packed trips was a 9-day European adventure with a friend, exploring Great Britain, France, Italy, Switzerland, and Ireland. Since then, my love for travel and learning about the world has only grown, and I’m excited to continue exploring with my kids!

My Family

As I mentioned above, I got married in 2023. We have three kids. My eldest is in first grade and my younger two spend their days at home with me! The two youngest are only 11.5 months apart which many people refer to as “Irish twins” – I’d like to think my travels to Ireland had a hand in that. We also have a black lab that will be turning six this year. He loves to roam, play fetch, and go swimming.

My Travels

I have traveled to 38 states and 17 countries. My longest stay was when I studied abroad to Australia. A few fun facts: I am scuba certified and have dived in 2 of the top 3 (depending what you google) barrier reefs in the world. In college, I completed a research project in Lithuania at a Synagogue that was demolished during World War II and it will (fingers crossed) soon become a World Heritage Site.

After all of that, I still have so much more I could share with you about the many other places I have traveled to. Given all that has happened the last two years, I’ve really tried to focus my traveling within the U.S. now that I am a mom and it is much easier to wrangle kids closer to home. It’s true what they say about the best things sometimes being right in your backyard. I fell in love with traveling at a young age and being a mom right out of college didn’t allow me to take lavish vacations, so I learned how to travel on a budget and that’s really when my love for planning trips took off. My friends always say they can’t afford to go anywhere, so I took it upon myself to really invest my knowledge of how to find the best deals, how to find good places to stay, where to eat, places to see, etc. If I am not currently taking a trip, I am always planning a trip.
