This post might look a little different than my usual travel content, but as a mom of three little ones—and a stay-at-home mom at that—adventuring close to home has become just as important (and magical!) as jetting off somewhere new. Not every adventure requires a plane ticket or a suitcase. Some of the best memories are made in our own backyards, and this summer, I’m embracing that fully.
I’m currently working on putting together a local summer guide for families in the greater Chippewa Valley area—something I wish existed all in one place when I first started looking for fun things to do with my kids during the summer months. Whether you’re a fellow parent, caregiver, or just someone looking for ways to enjoy the season with the littles in your life, this guide is for you.
Please note, this is a work in progress and I will be adding content to the live link below over the next few weeks with the hopes of doing this each season. Updated 7/7/25.
Whether you’re planning a low-key afternoon or a full day out, there’s something here for every kind of summer fun, though this specific guide is geared towards families with children under 12. **I do want to mention these are not definitive lists, as there are many more libraries, beaches, playgrounds, etc., that are not included simply because these are ones that I feel parents would want to know about or visit. If there is something missing you’d like to see included please let me know!
