October Insider

Does anyone else feel like once Halloween is approaching, time just speeds up and then suddenly it’s New Year’s Day? That’s why I like to get ahead of the rush and check off as many “to-dos” as I can before the holiday whirlwind begins. A big one on my list is vacation planning for the first half of the new year. Hello, spring break & summer trips!

The past month has flown by with the start of school and settling back into our daily rhythm of drop-offs and pickups. It’s been a busy but exciting season! I had clients travel to Greece for nine days, booked three cruises with Norwegian Cruise Line, and attended special trainings with Disney, Royal Caribbean, and Universal Studios. I also found out I was selected for a FAM trip in December to complete in-person training at Universal Studios Orlando! I’ll be touring several on-property hotels, soaking in the parks’ holiday magic (hello, Mr. Grinch!), and learning all about what’s new for the upcoming year — all to bring even more insight and value to my clients.

Outside of planning travel for clients — I can’t believe we’re already talking about spring trips! — it also means all of my kiddos will be celebrating another birthday. We recently took some updated family photos for the year, and I’m in the thick of potty training my middle child (what a chaotic adventure that’s been!). Our first big family trip is coming up right after Christmas — we’ll spend a few days at Disney to take advantage of the youngest two still being free, then set sail on an eight-night cruise through the Southern Caribbean. I can’t wait to make new memories together and bring all that I have learned back to my clients.

Spring Break Escapes

While some people like to wait until January/February to start booking their Spring Break trips, booking before the holidays is one of the smartest travel moves you can make. Not only will you have the best pick of resorts, cruise cabins, and flight times before they start to sell out, but you’ll also lock in lower rates before any price jumps happen. Plus, planning ahead means you can relax and actually enjoy the holiday season knowing your spring getaway is already set. You won't have to worry scrambling for last-minute options when availability is limited and prices are sky-high.

Top 5 Spring Break Activities/Destinations:

  • Beach Vacations – Florida, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Hawaii are classic spots for sun, sand, and relaxation.

  • Cruises – Spring break is one of the most popular times for cruising since you can visit multiple destinations with everything included onboard.

  • Theme Parks – Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Universal Studios are high on the list for families.

  • All-Inclusive Resorts – Parents love them because meals, drinks, and activities are all taken care of, making travel stress-free.

  • City or Adventure Travel – Some choose cultural city trips (New York, Washington D.C., European cities) or adventure travel (skiing, hiking, national parks).

Set Sail This Summer

Did you know that MOST people book their cruises 6-9 months in advance? That means if you're planning to sail this summer, you might want to start browsing around now.  For peak seasons like spring break, summer, and the holidays, the best rooms can sell out a year ahead - and if you are wanting connecting rooms or a suite, it's even more critical to book in advance.

My absolute favorite cruise line is Royal Caribbean because it strikes the perfect balance between family-friendly fun and incredible value. Their ships are packed with activities for all ages, the service is always top-notch, and the overall experience feels both high-quality and welcoming — making every sailing unforgettable.

European Adventures

If a summer getaway to Europe is on your bucket list, there’s no time like the present to start planning. Imagine starting your mornings exploring a mountain trail, spending afternoons wandering cobblestone streets, and ending your day sampling local cuisine in a charming village. Summer is peak travel season, which means flights and accommodations fill up fast and prices rise as availability drops. By planning now, you’ll have the advantage of choosing from the best hotels, securing the flights that fit your schedule, and locking in experiences and tours before they sell out.

For nature lovers, Europe offers some of the most breathtaking national parks in the world. Check out some of my recommendations HERE.

Don’t Wait—Your Future Self Will Thank You

I know planning a vacation months in advance can feel overwhelming. Between work, family, and daily life, it’s easy to put it off. But the truth is, booking now is one of the smartest moves you can make. A little planning today means more relaxation, more fun, and more peace of mind when your getaway finally arrives.
