Spooktacular Fun in the Chippewa Valley

It’s officially spooky season — and the Chippewa Valley is buzzing with festive fun! From trunk-or-treats to traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating, there’s no shortage of candy, costumes, and community spirit this October.


Whether you’re in Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Menomonie, or one of the cozy nearby towns, you’ll find plenty of places to show off those costumes and fill your buckets. I’ve rounded up some of the area’s top halloween kids events happening over the next few weeks to make your Halloween planning easy!

At a Glance:
  • Downtown Eau Claire Trick-or-Treating: Local shops along Barstow Street will be handing out goodies and welcoming families for a fun morning stroll.

  • Trunk-or-Treats Galore: From Little Star Daycare and Trinity Lutheran Church to EXA Sports and the Cremation Society of WI, there are plenty of spots for candy, games, and costume fun all week long.

  • Festive Train & Trolley Rides: Hop aboard the Carson Park Halloween Train, take a scenic Chippewa River Trolley Tour, or plan a fall weekend on the Osceola Train for extra Halloween magic.

  • Residential Trick-or-Treating: Neighborhoods across the Valley will open their doors to little ghouls and goblins from 4:00–7:30 p.m. on October 31 — check back for updated community hours closer to Halloween night.

  • Chippewa Valley Museum’s Skelebration: Experience flashlight tours, scavenger hunts, and spooky surprises at this family-friendly favorite.


Whether your family loves exploring local businesses, hopping between decorated trunks, or venturing through neighborhoods, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this Halloween season.
